Basilica di San Zeno

The Basilica of San Zeno in Verona is one of the Romanesque masterpieces in Italy. It is spread over three levels and the current structure was set up in the X-XI century. The name of the saint is sometimes reported in two other ways, and so is sometimes named the basilica of Verona: San Zeno Maggiore or San Zenone. Among the numerous works of art, it houses a masterpiece by Andrea Mantegna, the altarpiece of San Zeno. In May 1973, Pope Paul VI elevated it to minor basilica.
