Parco Ducale di Parma

The Parco Ducale, also known simply as "the garden", is a historical park of Parma of 208,700 m², located in the Oltretorrente district near the torrent Parma.
It presents centuries-old trees that create an elaborate green architecture in their location, studied and prepared in 1560 and expanded in the eighteenth century. Adorned with sculptural groups by J. B. Boudard, it will later be further modified "to the French". Inside the Park we find the ancient Palazzo Ducale and the Palazzetto Eucherio Sanvitale, the latter built on Renaissance forms in 1520 by Giorgio da Erba.
In the northwest part, facing Palazzetto Eucherio Sanvitale, we find the Boudard Silente group from 1766, perhaps the most significant work of the French sculptor. Along the north avenue, before the Palazzo Ducale, there are the statues of four Geniuses.
